Delicious modern beers from our Tunbridge Wells brewery, supplying independent pubs and bars throughout the South East.
We combine traditional brewing techniques with contemporary ideas to give you full-flavoured beers across a wide range of styles and in a format to suit, whether that is keg or cask or direct to you in cans or minikegs. We’ll happily brew a classic Dark Mild for cask or a fruit infused Hefeweizen for a refreshing lift on keg in the summer.
Whether it’s a classic cask “session beer” or an experimental Mango IPA on keg we always aim for something that makes you want to come back for more. Consistency and reliability are key to our beers.
We learned so much from other breweries when we started and are always happy to help homebrewers and anyone starting out as a brewery. We are supportive, inclusive and support equality in all forms. We are a living wage employer.
We have been lucky enough to get our hands on trial quantities of experimental hops over the years, many of them developed in Kent. Trying out something new is not only fun, it can take us in a different direction or improve an existing beer. Our spent grain goes to feed local livestock and the used hops go to local allotments.
From the outset we have taken every opportunity to combine our love of brewing beer with our love of music. One of our earliest beers was named (with his kind permission) after broadcasting legend “Whispering” Bob Harris, and through him we were lucky enough to meet many amazing artists. We have named most of our beers after song titles or lyrics and have brewed a beer for a new music radio station, Primordial Radio. We continue to work with new artists so keep your eyes peeled! We’ve made a playlist of all the songs that have inspired the names of our beers.
Have a listen over a pint or two.
Pig and Porter took two distinct passions – beer and food – and turned them into a business. We started out as an event catering business offering a bespoke high quality barbecue service and our own beer, which we initially brewed at other local breweries. The beer was incredibly well received and we were able to move into the site of the former Royal Tunbridge Wells brewery in 2013.
We quickly developed a reputation for interesting well-made beers often designed to be paired with food and this continues to be reflected in the high-quality independent restaurants we supply. In addition to our love of music and food, we have been lucky enough to indulge our love of cricket and brewed a beer for Kent legend Darren Stevens’ testimonial year.
We love to experiment with new styles and ingredients and have now made well over a hundred different beers.
